Eira Morgan-Jones
Author of Sentinel of the Sun
“In the centre of the sky before the breaking dawn, a convergence of light appeared, a prism of dust and cloud and sparks, growing and growing, glowing with radiance that blocked out the world, until the sky cracked and a silhouette appeared before it, arched wings beating, curved talons folded beneath itself…”
The tidal wave that destroys Alexis Wilde’s home tract sends her into hiding in the wilderness - it is the latest in a long series of natural disasters shaking her world.
Unsettling events are occurring in the distant capital, and the arrival of a mysterious stranger in her shattered valley starts to hint at something more at play. Beings older than civilisation and as powerful as the forces of nature are gathering, trying to set right the disruption to the balance of the Earth.
If Alexis is to survive the wild she must uncover the truth of her own place in it, even if it costs her her life… and maybe not for the first time.
